Northumberland based business support service launched their first ever Women’s only networking event, the success of the event has secured booking for a second event to be held at one of Northumberland’s most unique event spaces.

To mark International Women’s Day 2025, the Northumberland Small Business Service (NSBS) proudly launched a new Women’s Networking event as part of their Northumberland Networking series. Northumberland Networking: Women in Business launched at the stunning Northside Farm on 13th March 2025 and was a sold out event.

The Northumberland Small Business Service (NSBS) is delivered by Northumberland County Council. The project is part funded by the North East Combined Authority and the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the Rural England Prosperity Fund, with the North East Combined Authority as the lead authority.

With a large amount of women already registered with the programme, NSBS recognised the need for a free, inclusive, and supportive local networking group for women running a business in rural areas. Until now, opportunities for women only events to regularly meet, share ideas, and build relationships in a relaxed setting were limited in the area. The first event, was a huge success, bringing together a vibrant community of women who described the atmosphere as welcoming, friendly, and empowering.

Programme Manager, Lucy Evermore said “It was a wonderful event and we can’t wait for the next one. To provide a long-overdue space for local women in business to connect, collaborate, and grow together, it is amazing for the business community”.

Many attendees praised the event for allowing them to build real, lasting connections with fellow female business owners and professionals, creating a network that feels genuine and grounded in mutual support.

Due to the incredible response, NSBS is excited to announce a second Women’s Networking event on the 12th June, at the stunning Tempus Venue as part of Charlton Hall.

With plans to continue the series throughout the year. Each event will aim to provide a space where women can find inspiration, community, and practical support as they grow their businesses. The events are open to anyone who identifies as female.

This is more than just networking it’s the beginning of a movement to celebrate and support women in business across Rural Northumberland.

The women’s networking events are open to any individual that identifies as female.
